“Stay Cool” Production Stills

As you know from previous posts here on HilaryNews, Hilary Duff spent part of her summer filming Stay Cool, a comedy flick co-starring Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Mark Polish, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer. The movie was put together by indie filmmakers Mark & Michael Polish under their own production company, Prohibition Pictures.

In Stay Cool, Hilary Duff plays Shasta O’Neil, a sexy high school senior who flirts with a successful visiting author (Mark Polish as Henry McCarthy) and invites him to prom. The same author must deal with another unrequired high school crush (Winona Ryder as Scarlet Smith).

The film has a release date of 2009 attached to it, but no further details. The producer, Jonathan Sheldon, tells HilaryNews.com that Stay Cool will be releasing more details after the Sundance Film Festival where the other Prohibition Picture movie filmed last summer, Manure, will be showing (sadly Stay Cool will not show at Sundance).

If you recall from Hilary’s blog post back in August, she shared that the film includes a graduation and prom scene. These were special to Hilary because she never had the opportunity to do either while in high school.

Hilary Duff’s Night Out

Wearing a very sexy form-fitting little black dress, Hilary Duff and some friends went clubbing at Bardot in Hollywood. According to E!, the girls were there for a burlesque show!

First she and her friends went to Katsuya for dinner, then later clubbing at Bardot. While coming out of the club, Hilary took some time to sign autographs for fans before heading home. Hilary Duff Furniture Shopping

Hillary Duff was spotted out today shopping at Dos Gallos furniture store in West Hollywood, California. Hilary was dressed in relaxed clothing, either having perhaps gone to pilates or just enjoying the comfortable (yet still vibrant) clothes.

Hilary Duff Disney Mobile Commercial #3

Back in February, Hilary Duff began her stint as the face of Disney Mobile Japan. For each commercial there was a Hilary Duff remix of a classic Disney song. Her first song was a remix of “Mickey Mouse March” and the second was a remix of Cinderella’s “A Dream is a Wish.”

The third song, which premiered in the latest commercial in December, features a remix of “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio. The phone Hilary is promoting is called the Tinkerbell, which celebrates 80 years of Disney in Japan.

“Safety Glass” now “What Goes Up”

Hilary Duff’s movie Safety Glass has been renamed to What Goes Up.

The movie was filmed in Vancouver, BC and was set in the mid-1980s. The plot of the movie deals with an “emotionally damaged” New York reporter who is sent to cover the hooplah over a hometown hero related to the Challenger Space Shuttle launch. The reporter doesn’t like his assignment, so instead decides to follow a group of disaffected students whose own hero - a beloved teacher - has just killed himself under a cloud of scandal.

The movie stars Steve Coogan, Hilary Duff, Molly Shannon & Olivia Thirlby. Hilary Duff plays Lucy, one of the students, a senior in her final year.

The movie is still listed on imdb with a 2008 release date, despite it being 2009 now, so we’ll have to wait and see what develops!

“Reach Out” Download Day - January 6th

Hilary Duff fans are gathering together on January 6th to help get Hilary Duff’s latest single, ‘Reach Out’, high onto the charts!!

January 6th is ‘Reach Out’ Download Day!!

So, on January 6th, go to iTunes or Amazon to download the ‘Reach Out’ single MP3. Hopefully if we all group together in this effort we can help get Hilary Duff’s single onto the charts!! This would make it Hilary Duff’s 6th charting single on the Hot 100!!

Because of mismanagement of the release, with Hilary’s ‘Best Of’ album being removed from iTunes on the day of its release, it took the new singles out of the running for Billboard’s Hot 100. The album returned to iTunes on December 18th, with singles available for download. Since hype for the album has passed, now’s our chance to make a difference.

So, head to iTunes on January 6th and download ‘Reach Out’!!
